Reno Omokri, the former spokesperson for the ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has offered Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari a sum of $20,000 to sleep in Koshobe or Kware for a night.
Mr Omokri announced the wager on his Twitter account on Wednesday.
He said that he placed the wager because Shehu quoted Buhari as saying he has made the country safer.
Omokri appointed media personality Dele Momodu as the referee.
Koshebe and Kware, located in Borno State and Sokoto State respectively has been flagged as unsafe and prone to attack from Boko Haram and Bandits.
Omokri tweeted, “Garba Shehu said General @MBuhari has made Nigeria safer. I vow to pay @GarShehu $20000 if he will spend a night without security in Koshobe, or Kware, verified by an independent journalist. I will give the funds to @DeleMomodu when Garba accepts to go

Reacting to the tweet, Shehu ignored the wager and made an allegation that the wager is from the money Omokri made from agitating for the release of Leah Sharibu, a small girl from the abducted Chibok girls in 2014 that Boko Haram has failed to release because she refused to renounce her faith.
Shehu replied, “If this is the money from the collections made in the name of Leah Sharibu, the unfortunate Christian girl stolen by Boko Haram, I won’t touch it with a long. Please keep “your USD20000.”
Signifying his interest, Dele Momodu, the appointed umpire said,”As your umpire, I suggest our Brother @GarShehu takes up the challenge gratis as an avowed disciple of @MBuhari and call the bluff of @renoomokri and I will declare the winner asap…”
