- The Traditional Rulers Council of Cross River State has warned of its plan to invoke Native and Traditional Sanctions to perpetrators of criminalities in the state.
The Council disclosed this warning via a statement released on Monday.
The statement said this step was necessary in the wake of increased security challenges in the state and in the country.
The Council then urged people of Cross River to go about their business peacefully and without fear.

“The Cross River State Traditional Rulers council,in keeping to their role as Ambassadors of Peace and custodians of Tradition; and in support of the State Government and people of the State, wish to inform the general public, that it would invoke Native and Traditional Sanctions to serve as deterrence against the perpetrators of kidnapping, Armed Robbery and other criminalities and vices in Our dear state.
This is consequent upon the continuous violation of Public Peace in the aftermath of the #endsars# riots and other challenges in the state.
This effort shall take the Council to all the 18 Local Government Councils of the System
Cross-Riverians, Visitors and the General public are advised to go about their normal daily businesses without fear.
We don’t have any other state, but Cross River State, so we must work together and sustain an enduring Peace in our State.”
