The Nigerian Government has postponed the resumption of international flights scheduled for Auust 29th 2020.
This was announced on Thursday afternoon by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika during the Presidential Task Force briefing on COVID-19. NewsWireNGR gathered that the new date for the resumption of flights is September 5th 2020.
The statement read; “Regret to announce that the international flight resumption earlier scheduled to resume on 29th August has been shifted to 5th September 2020.”
NewsWireNGR had reported that the Federal Government had given aviation authorities approval to commence the process for the resumption of international flights during COVID-19 Presidential Task Force briefing on August 6
The Aviation minister in previous briefings, also said airlines would be informed on arrangements that had been put in place to ensure that the resumption of flights were without problems adding that only a few flights per day would be permitted, and they would operate as test runs of the protocols put in place to ensure the safe return to international operations.
The protocols, according to him, would be made public in due course.
