Gusau, Obanikoro, 9 Others Confirmed Ministers

The Nigerian Senate, Tuesday, confirmed former National Security Adviser, Gen. Mohammed Aliyu Gusau, former Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Musiliu Obanikoro and former governor of Adamawa State, Mr Boni Haruna, from Zamfara, Lagos and Adamawa states respectively, as ministers.

Former Nigerian Ambassador to China, Aminu Wali, former Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Mohammed Wakil, Mrs Akon Etim Eyakenyi and Mrs Lawrencia Labaran Mallam, representing Kano, Borno, Akwa Ibom and Kaduna states were also confirmed.

Others were Dr Khaliru Alhassan from Sokoto, Alhaji Abduljelili Adesiyan, from Osun, Dr T.W. Danagogo from Rivers states and Mrs Asabe Asmau Ahmed from Niger states.
However, the Senate defers the confirmation of Hajia Jamilila Salik, one of the nominees from Kano state. No reason was given for the action even as the nominee did not appear with others for screening throughout the three days the exercise lasted.

  1. Why are most of them muslims? Don’t we have qualified christians? This country is so tilted towards ismal! I’m not against any religion though but let’s have balanced representation. God bless Nigeria!

  2. Unbelievable how you can differentiate muslims frm Christians by names, I suppose, forgetting that it’s not always right. It’s however more astonishing that religion was also brought here at a time when excellent representation should be paramount for d nations development. I wouldn’t deny being a muslim bt should it be crystal clear that our fellow Christian brothers can move dis nation forward and better, I dnt see why not. And should you want to base ur argument on equal representation, den look at 001 to 005 of d Nigerian citizens and you’ll see that not only are christians 3 but also d most powerful among them. However, all we need irrespective of religious affiliation are good leaders.
