Former Vice President and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Atiku Abubakar and his supporters did not take part in the Adamawa State ward and local government congresses of 2014, according to his associate, Yakubu Tsala.
Tsala was reacting to a story in the Saturday, 30th January weekend edition of the Leadership Newspaper titled “Adamawa Power Tussle: A Clash Of The Titans”.
Tsala who is also the Shettima Mubi dismissed as sheer fabrications the newspaper’s analysis seeking to drag Atiku Abubakar into any fictional fight with anybody.
According to the associate, Atiku, his supporters and associates didn’t participate in Adamawa APC congress and that the analysis was based on the author’s imagination to suit their mischievous agenda.
He explained that at the state congress, Atiku’s camp was allocated certain positions which were filled by his supporters.
The associate explained further that Governor Jubrilla Bindow did not have a single member at all levels of the APC structure in the state, but that he won the nomination simply because Nyako’s son, Senator Aziz who set up the entire structure was on the run.
He said anything outside these concrete and verifiable facts is utter fabrication, adding that any analysis meant for public benefit should be based on facts and not deliberate distortions to mislead and misinform unsuspecting readers.
According to the associate, the so-called power tussle and clash of the titans was a tissue of lies intended to invent a problem that didn’t exist with a view to propagating falsehoods clothed in a so-called political analysis.
The Shettima Mubi said people are entitled to their opinions, but nobody is entitled to fabricate stories and misinform the public to suit their own mischievous agenda.
He advised journalists not to allow themselves to be manipulated by mischievous politicians to publish any analysis based on fabrications and misinformation to mislead Nigerians.
