2000 PDP Members Decamp To APC in Edo As Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi Declares For Governor 2016

It was a moment of great jubilation and serious funfair in the city of Benin, Edo State today as ex-minister of state for works and one-time President of the Energy Strategy Centre Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi decamped from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with over 2,000 followers.

The ground breaking event which took place at the Urhokpota Ground, Oba O Vonramwen Square, Benin City saw Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi been massively received by party leaders and faithfuls. Several ethnic and socio-cultural groups came out to show their massive love and support for the current President of the Energy and Engineering Technology Consulting and Energy Group.

From the Arewa group, igbo Community, Yoruba APC Members to the National Association of Nigerian Students and Students Union Excos who were all in attendance; the massive echo of ‘We love Chris Ogiemwonyi’ rented the sky.

Engr. Chris, who was received by the Edo State APC Chairman in person of Hon. Anselm Ojezua alongside the party secretary Chief Osaro Idah and Hon. Charles Idahosa said he feels so good to have finally come out of darkness into the marvelous light.

In his words he said ‘For a while now, i kept asking myself as a PDP Member if this is how we shall to live. If this our Nigerians shall continue to wallow in poverty and stay helpless in a country blessed with milk and honey. I feel so much pain inside of me whenever i think about this and finally decided to effect a change, a change which our great party APC has started’.

Continuing he said ‘I want to consolidate on the good works of the Comrade Governor. Even the blind can see and feel the development going on.

“It’s time to vote out PDP cause they’re undemocractic. I left the power industry in 2009 when we needed to generate 6,000 Megawatts of electricity, as at when i was leaving we had already generated almost 5,000 Megawatts but see what we have today, the system is damaged, he said’.

‘Today, i publicly renounce the PDP and i renounce them forever, i am more than glad to be under the leadership of our great party chairman Chief John Oyegun. As an Engineer, i am well calculated. I shocked veryone when i defected from the PDP, I had mapped out my strategy and they were all suprised.

Chris Ogiemwonyi also took time out to shower praises on his beautiful wife Mrs Joy Ogiemwonyi when he emphasized the “One Man-One Woman’ slogan.

Welcoming Engineer Ogiemwonyi to the APC, Edo state governor, Adam Oshiomhole, said Mr. Ogiemwonyi made the right decision and called PDP a failure that has no space in Edo State.

“This is the party of change, and the PDP is a failed party that has no space here in Edo state. You have made the right move and you are welcome to the APC” the governor said.

The governor said it is laughable to imagine that the PDP can win any election again in Edo State.
