Just like it is been done in Ogun state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have reached out to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) leader in the state, Chief Martin Agbaso, soliciting his return to the party to help regain the state in the next election.
The PDP delegation was led by Senator Hope Uzodinma,representing the Imo West senatorial district. Uzodinma pleaded passionately with him to return to his original base, adding that such a personality does not need to play regional politics but should come back to mainstream of national politics.
He further said the visit to Agbaso was in line with the step taken by the national leadership of the party which last week constituted a peace reconciliation committee in each of the six geo-political zones of the country to reconcile differences among members of the party.
“Consequently, we have been able to reach out to some founding fathers of our party who for one reason or another left for other political parties, and we know that Agbaso is one of those we feel should come back for us to deliver our party.”
“So today, we decided to come here to formally invite you to come back to the PDP as you are one of our brothers and because of the seriousness which we have attached to this exercise, that is why I am here in person.”
while responding, Agbaso thanked members of the delegation for the visit, stating that he had already had series of discussions with the leadership of the party to this effect.
He expressed absolute confidence in the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan abut pleaded for time to enable him take a position on their request.
