Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested four suspected cultists in connection with a disturbing viral video showing the initiation of a toddler into a cult group in Sapele, Delta State.
The shocking footage, which has been circulating across social media, shows the suspects blindfolding the child and forcing him to drink alcohol while chanting initiation words.
The terrified child was seen crying and struggling as the men carried out the ritual-like act.
However, in a statement on Monday, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, said four suspects linked to the act have been apprehended.
“These suspects have been arrested for the evil they did to this innocent child,”
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the police headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution.
“These suspects have been arrested for the evil they did to this innocent child. The CP has ordered that they should be transferred to the headquarters immediately,” Edafe said.
