Rema reportedly paid N4.5bn to perform at Indian wedding

Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, stage name “Rema”, was reportedly paid $3 million (approximately N4.5 billion; N1500/$) to perform at Anant Ambani’s wedding.

The Nigerian afrobeat sensation performed his hit song ‘Calm Down’ at the wedding of Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani’s son, Anant Ambani, and daughter of pharma tycoons, Viren and Shaila Merchant, Radhika Merchant.

The event held on Friday at the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Centre (BKC) in Mumbai.

Canadian singer, Justin Bieber, was also reportedly paid $10 million for his performance at the event.

Pop star, Rihanna, also performed at the event for an undisclosed fee.

The news of the ‘Calm Down’ crooner’s record-breaking performance fee has sent shockwaves across social media, with many users hailing music as a lucrative career path.
