2015: Tambuwal Asks Supporters Not To Campaign For Him Yet As Ihedioha Denies Posters

Recently posters which had the Speaker of the Federal House Of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal and his Deputy, Emeka Ihedioha as Presidential and Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) respectively flooded Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja.

Well, the speaker and deputy speaker  who are not even members of the APC have through their media representatives reacted to the posters which came at a time when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not approved for the commencement of campaign.

Mr. Imam Imam who is the Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs to the speaker in a statement asked fans of the speaker not to campaign for him yet as INEC has not given a nod to that. He appreciated those behind the posters for deeming the speaker fit for such a position but asked them to refrain from such for now. He stated that the speaker will let Nigerians know in the proper way if he decides to run for elective position in the near future.

The media rep of the deputy speaker, Oke Epia on his part released a statement claiming that the speaker knew nothing about the posters which he asked the public to ignore as they knew nothing about it. He stated that the posters were the handiwork of mischief makers. The deputy speaker on his part described the posters as ‘laughable’ and ‘completely nonsensical’.
