Odumodublvck according to the rapper means masquerade. He revealed in an interview that; “In secondary I played a prank on someone and he got scared. From there he said ‘guy you resemble ODUMODUBLVCK,’ which was a masquerade. I was so angry because people were laughing and in secondary school, the names you don’t like sticks.

“When I came into music, I was using T Flows, one of the wackiest names of all time [laughs]. I’m so happy that I never put out music with that name cause it’s so basic, cliche and uninteresting. About ‘Big Gun,’ I was going through a lot in the music industry and they wanted to Blacklist me.

“So I was in the studio one day freestyling angrily, and I said, “Shakabula dey inside my tongue, ODUMODUBLVCK, my middle name na Big Gun.””

Controversy

Declined to perform at President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Concert

Odumodu Black on May 25, 2023, tweeted about the presidential inauguration of the 16th President of Nigeria Bola Tinubu Renewed Hope concert.

He wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page, “They Tried To Get Me To Perform At The Inauguration. They Did Not Do Their Research.”

However, on 2 March 2023, following the release of NATIVE Sound System single “Vex”, Odumodu declared his support for Peter Obi in the second verse, “I dey hope on Peter Obi to save me,” and had earlier described himself as Peter Obi’s running mate on social media.

Reportedly ran away from fight in LASU

In July 2023, Odumodublvck, who is a member of the hip-hop collective Anti World Gangstars, was seen in a viral video running from an event at the Lagos State University (LASU) after being allegedly attacked by cult members.

He, however, denied this. The Declan Rice crooner claimed he was instead running away from billing.
