Meet Olusegun Dada, Announced Digital Media Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has made his first set of appointments as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In the appointments, he named Ambassador Kunle Adeleke as the State Chief of Protocol (SCOP) to the President.

He also appointed former Lagos State Commissioner of Information, Dele Alake as Presidential Spokesman and Olusegun Dada Special Adviser, Digital Media.

Olusegun Dada, was before now, an aspirant for the position of national youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but halfway during the convention, had to withdraw from the race.

Sources within the party say, he was forced to step down for Bola Tinubu’s Candidate, Dayo Israel.

Olusegun who announced his withdrawal at the party’s 2022 National Convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja, fought back tears.

He is one of several aspirants who backed out of various party positions with respect to the consensus arrangement of the party as captured in the unity list released late Saturday.

Dada who tearfully withdrew from the race at the party’s national convention, had earlier refused to step down for Dayo Israel, an aspirant backed by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos governor.

In a statement posted on his Twitter page on Sunday, Dada said his personal aspiration is secondary to the decision of the party.

“What happened a few hours ago at the Eagle Square is a clear indication that the party will always be supreme,” the post reads.

“No aspiration is bigger than the party hence my stepping aside to ensure the party exercises her most preferred mechanism in selecting the youth leader of the party as well as other positions in the party structure via consensus.

“I deeply appreciate everyone who has supported this cause in their very important ways. My profound gratitude goes out to my team for running an issue based campaign, especially our policy plans and implementation; your sleepless nights count a lot, I am very proud of you all.

“Every political event exposes one to superior arguments and decision making, yet, I will not relent fighting for the interests of the youths within the confines of my capacity.

“I am humble in victory and gracious in defeat.”
