Meet Abdulganiyu Johnson, lawmaker behind the bill seeking to ban doctors from travelling abroad

Who is Abdulganiyu Johnson? Biography, Wikipedia

Abdulganiyu Johnson is a lawmaker representing Oshodi-Isolo II Federal Constituency in the 9th National Assembly.

He was born on June 17, 1952. Rep Johnson is currently 70 years old and will be 71-year-old by June 17, 2023.

Johnson was elected in 2019 after defeating the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Emmanuel Nnodimu. Johnson scored 19,426 to beat his PDP challenger, who scored 15,872 votes.

Johnson, in January 2022 chaired the House of Reps a 14-member committee set-up to investigate the quantity of fuel consumed in the country daily and determine the state of the nation’s refineries.

During the 2022 primary, Johnson was nominated by the APC after winning all the 30 votes from the 30 delegates who voted.

However, he lost his re-election bid to the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Prince Okey-Joe.

Johnson garnered 16,650 votes, while Okey-Joe got 29,386 votes to be declared the winner.
