Top 10 Richest Tech Billionaires in the World in 2023

Technology is the world’s third-most lucrative industry for billionaires. More money means more opportunities to foster widespread change for the greater global good of the world’s wealthiest tech billionaires.

With the volatile market caused by the pandemic and subsequent lockdown, even the richest tech CEOs face the uncertainty that could affect their bottom line. However, this allowed others to increase their net worth by capitalizing on the pandemic’s impact.

Below is a list of the world’s top 10 richest tech billionaires

10. Zhang Yiming: $49.5 Billion ? TikTok

Zhang Yiming is the founder of ByteDance, the Chinese tech giant best known for creating the popular app TikTok, which has more than 1 billion users all over the world.

ByteDance now has investments in video gaming to expand its services.

Zhang was a member of the 2013 Forbes China 30 Under 30 List.

9. Mark Zuckerberg: 51.2 Billion ? Facebook

Zuckerberg is famous for creating Facebook, one of the world’s largest social networks.

He changed the company’s name to Meta in 2021 as the company is focusing more on Metaverse.

He currently sits on the 9th spot of the richest tech billionaires in the world, with a net worth of 51.2 billion.

8. Michael Dell: $52 Billion ? Dell

The Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Dell Technologies. He currently holds an ownership stake in the Dell spinoff company VMWAre Inc.

The tech boss is projecting his effort into the cloud-computing market to include the use of AI to automate the process.

7. Steve Ballmer: $77.8 Billion ? Microsoft

Steve Ballmer is currently worth $84.9 billion. Despite stepping down as the CEO of Microsoft in 2014, he still owns a reasonable amount of shares in the company.

He invests in Xbox, Surface tablets, and Microsoft smart home technology. Additionally, he owns the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team.

6. Sergey Brin: $79 Billion ? Google

Sergey Brin is the Co-Founder of Alphabet, the holding corporation that owns Google, the most used search engine in the world that earned $258 billion in revenue in 2021 

Brin is worth $87.3 billion. Like Larry, Brin also invests in a secret airship company Lighter Than Air (LTA). The airspace ship will be eco-friendly and deliver humanitarian needs at underdevelop places around the world

5. Larry Page: $82.4 Billion ? Google

Larry Page is a co-founder of Alphabet, the company that owns Google.

Google is the world’s most used search engine. Page also invested in Kittyhawk, an air taxi start-up service in partnership with Boeing

4. Bill Gates: $102.6 Billion ? Microsoft

Bill Gates is the co-founder of the giant tech and world’s largest software manufacturing company,  Microsoft, 

He is currently worth $107 Billion. The tech executive earned about $168 billion in 2021 through its various properties.

Additionally, Bill also gets his wealth from Cascade Investments and The Gates Foundation

3. Larry Ellison: $111.1 Billion ? Oracle

Larry Ellison is the co-founder of software giant Oracle. He owns about 35% of the company.

He is the third richest tech billionaire in the world, with a net worth of $111.1 Billion.

Ellison left his role as the CEO of Oracle in 2014.

He was a board member of Tesla from December 2018 to August 2022. His share with the company at the moment is around 15 million

2. Jeff Bezos: $114 billion ? Amazon

Jeff Bezos, the Founder of Amazon. Amazon is the largest digital retail outlet in the world.

Jeff sits in the second spot among the richest tech billionaires in the world, with a net worth of $114 billion.

The tech mogul is investing in Altos Labs, a company dedicated to reversing ageing and handling immortality.

He is also investing in a space-travel company called Blue Origin to rival Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

1. Elon Musk: $190 billion ? Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter

Elon is the CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX and, most recently, Twitter. He is currently the wealthiest tech billionaire in the world, with a net worth of $190 billion.

Musk recently took over Twitter in October 2022 with a $44 billion buyout. 

He now owns about 80% stake in the company
