Biography
Abimbola Oshin, famously known as Bimbo Oshin, is a Nigerian film actress, entrepreneur and movie producer.
She was born on July 24, 1971, in Ondo State. Bimbo Oshin is 51 years old as of 2022.
The award-winning actress has been featured in several Nollywood movies.
She is also the owner of the fashion brand “Dashing by Bimbo Oshin”.
Education
Bimbo attended Saint Anne’s Primary School, Oke Agunla, Ondo State, and Staff Primary School in Osun State, Ile-Ife, for her elementary schooling.
She then proceeded to Girls Academy, Sandgrouse, Lagos Island, Lagos State, for her secondary education.
Later, she headed to the University of Lagos, where she bagged a degree in Philosophy.
Career
Bimbo started her acting career as a student at the University of Lagos. The sister of one of her friends introduced her to the Ara Osan Group. She joined the crew (Ara Osan) to launch the craft professionally in 1996.
She spent four years working for Rasaq Ajao, the proprietor of the Ara Osan Theatre Organization. Despite starting in English soap operas, she is now successful in the Yoruba film industry.
Her 1997 debut film, “Akobi,” is credited with establishing her as a household name. In 2001, the eminent performer co-starred with Sola Sobowale, Bukky Wright, Antar Laniyan, and many other renowned actors in the TV episode “Oh Father! Oh Daughter!” from Wale Adenuga’s Super Story.
Two years later, Bimbo Oshin produced the Yoruba movie Eji Owuro. She also starred alongside Fausat Balogun, Lanre Hassan, Toyin Abraham, and other well-known actors in the 2012 Yoruba film Omo Elemosho. Additionally, Bimbo Oshin contributed to the 2020 hit movie “Kakanfo.”
Marriage
Bimbo Oshin was married to Lagos-based promoter Ola Ibironke (Dudu Heritage). She lost him to the cold hands of death in 2021.
