Davido makes his first public appearance for his uncle’s inauguration in Osun after sons demise

Davido had been away since the demise of his three-year-old Ifeanyi Adeleke, who died in an apparent drowning in the swimming pool at the singer’s house, according to police.
The singer, whose real name is David Adeleke, was not at the residence in Lagos at the time his son, Ifeanyi, died.
The child’s mother, Chioma Rowland, was also away, according to Lagos police spokesman Ben Hundeyin.
Davido’s public appearance is a reminder of his loyalty to family as his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, is sworn into office as Osun state governor today.
The incoming governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, will be inaugurated in Osogbo, the state’s capital, today.
Recall that Adeleke, under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, won the July 16, 2022, governorship in the state, defeating the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola, of the All Progressives Congress, and candidates of other political parties that vied for the coveted office.
Four years earlier, in 2018, Adeleke had taken his first shot at the governorship position, but he lost to Oyetola after a run-off election, which many believed to be controversial. Adeleke was adjudged to have won the first round of the election.
His elder brother, Adedeji, who is thought to have bankrolled his election, had admonished him always to put the people’s interests first. He added that if he (Ademola) did not deliver on his promises to the people, he would withdraw his support for him.
Born on May 13, 1960, Adeleke is a businessman. He represented the Osun West Senatorial district in the National Assembly between 2017 and 2019. He took over the seat from his brother, Isiaka, aka Serubawon, who was also a former governor of the state. Isiaka passed away on April 23, 2017, after allegedly suffering a heart attack.
