Nicholas Scott Cannon is a television host, actor, rapper, and comedian from the United States.
He was born (born October 8, 1980, in San Diego, California
Nick hosts The Nick Cannon Show, Wild ‘n Out, America’s Got Talent, Lip Sync Battle Shorties, and The Masked Singer.
He is also an actor who has appeared in several films, including Drumline, Love Don’t Cost a Thing, and Roll Bounce.

Career
Cannon was a member of the rap group “Da G4 Dope Bomb Squad” as a teenager. After signing with Jive Records in 2001, he appeared on the Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius soundtrack with a cover of the 1988 hit song “Parents Just Don’t Understand” alongside Romeo Miller and 3LW.
In 2003, he released his debut self-titled album, which included the single “Your Pops Don’t Like Me (I Really Don’t Like This Dude).”
Cannon founded his record label, Can-I-Ball Records, in 2005.
In 2010, Cannon released “Slick Nick,” a parody of hip-hop pioneer Slick Rick. He released two Slick Rick songs: “I’m a Slick Rick,” a freestyle of Cali Swag District’s “Teach Me How to Dougie” in which he attempted to diss hip hop mega-star Eminem, and “Nick’s Story,” a freestyle rap version of Slick Rick’s “Children’s Story.”
Other endeavours
In 2005, Cannon created, produced, and hosted the MTV comedy series Wild ‘N Out. That same year he hosted the so-called slime stunt on Nickelodeon’s 2005 Kids’ Choice Awards in which a human cannonball was shot into slime. In addition, he was the DJ on Ellen DeGeneres’s Bigger, Longer, And Wider show.
Cannon hosted the Nickelodeon HALO Awards in 2009 along with Justin Timberlake, Hayden Panettiere, LeBron James, Kelly Rowland and Alicia Keys.
He created and co-hosted the short-lived TeenNick original series ‘The Nightlife’ in 2010..
Cannon hosted Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, an annual American competitive eating competition, on July 4, 2011.
MTV2 announced the revival of Wild ‘N Out on November 12, 2012. The revived show was produced by Cannon’s Ncredible Entertainment and premiered in 2013 with a few returning faces joined by a roster of new talent.
Season 5 of the show premiered on MTV2 with the highest ratings in the channel’s history.
As part of his executive role with the network, Cannon launched and hosted the TeenNick Top 10 in 2012. The show counted down the top ten videos of the week, with Cannon’s suggestions frequently cutting. The series aired until March 17, 2018, when TeenNick discontinued all original programming.
Cannon was the master of ceremonies and an honoree at the annual Ebony Magazine Power 100 Awards on November 4, 2013. He began hosting Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon on NBC in 2014.
After three record-breaking seasons, Wild ‘N Out returned for its eighth season on August 4, 2016.
Cannon announced in 2019 that his syndicated daytime talk show, NCredible Entertainment, would premiere in 2020 through Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury and Cannon’s own production company.

Cannon has dated Christina Milian, Kim Kardashian, and model Jessica White. He got engaged to model Selita Ebanks in 2007.
In 2008, Cannon married singer-songwriter Mariah Carey, and they had two children together before their divorce.

Controversy
ViacomCBS fired Nick Cannon in 2020 after making racist and anti-Semitic remarks during an episode of his podcast Cannon’s Class with Professor Griff.
Cannon endorsed conspiracy theories about Jewish financial control, claimed that Jews had stolen the identity of “black people as the ‘true Hebrews,’” and cited Louis Farrakhan, who the Southern Poverty Law Center and Anti-Defamation League have labelled as an anti-semite.
He also made racist remarks, referring to white people as “savages” who were “closer to animals,” claiming that the “only way they can act is evil,” citing the pseudoscientific melanin theory.
According to a statement from ViacomCBS, Cannon’s relationship with the company was terminated due to his promotion of “hateful speech and… anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.”
Cannon only apologised for his anti-Semitic remarks two days later, saying, “I want to assure my Jewish friends, new and old, that this is only the beginning of my education.”
