?lawale ?l?f?r? (born Olawale Ibrahim Ashimi), famously known as Brymo, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, stage performer and author.
He was born on 9 May 1986 in Okokomaiko, Lagos, Nigeria. Brymo is 36 years as of 2022.
Olawale’s genre of music spans Yoruba native music, alt-rock, R&B, folk, soul, pop, and afrobeat. He has established himself as a Nigerian music export whose musical impact is felt across borders.

Brymo had his elementary education at Aganju Aka Primary School and later at Japual Primary School before heading to Ajangbadi High School, Ajangbadi, Ojo for his secondary education.
After he graduated from secondary school, Brymo headed to Lagos State University, Ojo, to study Zoology but later dropped out to focus on music.

Brymo’s musical career began in 1999, while he was still in high school, when he recorded the song “future.” His musical inspiration came from his mother’s renditions of Fuji songs. He formed ‘The Aliens’, a musical group with a few of his friends, in 2002, but the Aliens disbanded in 2005 due to various issues. He then launched a solo career without signing with a record label.

In 2007, he met a local talent manager who helped him record his debut album, “Brymstone.”
In 2008, he continued to promote his then-hit song ‘Shawdy’ with a video that received the most airtime across the country, earning nominations and positive reviews.

The video reached number one on Nigezee and number two on MTV’s African top 10 countdowns.
In 2010, he began moving with the well-known Nigerian rapper M.I, who introduced him to Jesse Jagz and Iceprince and signed him to the Chocolate City Music label. He has been dubbed “the master of hooks” due to his role in the success of Ice Prince’s monster-hit single Oleku.
His role in the hit song “Oleku” on Ice Princes’s ‘Everybody Loves Ice Prince’ shot him to the limelight in 2010.

Brymo rose to prominence in 2010 after appearing in Ice Prince’s first studio album, Everybody Loves Ice Prince, on the hit song Oleku.
On September 18, 2011, Brymo released his debut single via Chocolate City. Many hailed Brymo as Nigeria’s hook master within a year of his public debut and without having released a mainstream single, but this quickly changed after the release of the track ARA.
The song topped the Cool FM Top Ten and dominated the MTN Nigeria Top 10 Jamz chart, and Ara was the sixth most popular topic on Twitter worldwide. He has collaborated with M.I., Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz, Ill Bliss, Sasha, 2 Shotz, Playboy, Sarz, and Mikky Mi, among others.
Brymo is also the author of two books, ‘Oriri’s Plight’ and ‘Verses’.
