World’s most expensive wigs — see worth of Beyonce’s own

At a particular time in the Nigerian fashion space, bone straight and human hair are hot topics. Although not much talked about again, they still remain a luxurious possession of a typical Nigerian lady.
Wigs are easy to wear and save these beautiful angels numerous trips to the salon. In the western world, wigs are worn by both male and female.
Many people wear wigs to cover their hair loss.

Elizabeth Taylor, human hair wig — $2,560 and $16,000
Dame Elizabeth Rosemond “Liz” Taylor was a popular British-American actress. She wore this human hair (dark blonde) wig made Sydney Guilaroff in the movie Little Women in 1949.

There were three bids for the wig at Julien’s Auctions in May 15, 2014 and it was finally sold for $2,560.
Another wig worn by Taylor in the 1963 film, Cleopatra was auctioned for $16,000. It was made by Stanley Hall.
Andy Warhol Wig – $10,800
Pop artist, Andy Warhol, during his lifetime has a collection of wigs which he called “The wig”. He wore them alternately such that fans may not notice the difference. They were designed by Italian stylist, Paul Bochicchio.
One of “The wig” was acutioned for $10,800 at a Christie’s auction in New York in 2006.
Marilyn Monroe Wig – $29,900
The wig worn by this actress in the movie, The Misfits, was designed at the Hair Creations division of Max Factor Studios, made from real human hair sewn to a net.
It was sold for about $30,000 when it was auctioned in 1999 by Heritage auctions. When adjusted considering inflation, the wig would today be worth $50,000.

Michael Jackson’s Wig – $75,000
Music legend, Michael Jackson is said to have started wearing wigs after the infamous Pepsi Incident where a pyrotechnic in the 1984 commercial engulfed the superstar in flames, burning his hair, face, and scalp.
One of the wigs he had custom-made after the incident sold for almost $75,000 at a personal auction with copies of an authentication document.
The wig is made of medium-length black human hair with lace in the front, custom-made for Michael by USA Cap Weaver.

Beyonce’s wig – $145,000
Beyoncé’s wig collection is estimated to be worth $1 million. According to MediaTakeout, Beyonce revealed to her Germany crowd during her Mrs. Carter World Tour last night (March 18, 2014) that the wig she is wearing cost $145,000.
The most expensive wig in the world was worn by pop-artist Andy Warhol. According to one source, Warhol wore his wig not as a fashion statement, but to cover his hair loss. After he died, his wig sold for a whopping $108,000 at a Christie’s auction in 2006.
