Monalisa Chinda Coker is an actress, TV personality and philanthropist.

She was born September 13th, 1974, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, 

Monalisa is a known face among movie lovers as she stormed the industry in the 90s and has since been consistent.

She is known to appear on the big screen and also on stage dramas.

she became one of the first of four Nollywood actors to be featured on the cover of Hollywood Weekly Magazine

Monalisa attended Army Children’s School GRA for her elementary education before proceeding to Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Girls’ School, Elelenwo, for her secondary education.

.She then headed to the University of Port Harcourt, where she bagged a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts

Monalisa started acting as an undergraduate. Her first major movie was Pregnant Virgin in 1996.

She stormed the industry in 2007 when she rose to stardom and featured in a television soap, Heaven’s Gate. Her role in the project shot her to prominence.

She debuted as an Executive Producer when she co-produced a Royal Arts Academy movie, ‘Kiss & Tell’ alongside Emem Isong.

The veteran actress has been featured in more than 200 movies.

In 2014, Monalisa debuted her popular TV show, ‘You & I with Monalisa.”

Additionally, Monalisa is also a philanthropist whose charity work has touched lives. She also writes Monalisa Code column in the Saturday edition of The Sun Newspapers on social issues and relationships.

Monalisa was married to Dejo Richards and had a child, Tamar Chinda before the relationship ended in a divorce.

Monalisa was caught in a web of controversy when she was alleged to have evaded tax for her business in Lekki on Lagos Island.

She was dragged to court by the government, where a warrant of arrest was issued for her failure to appear in court.

However, Monalisa has refuted the allegations widely reported in the media.

In addition, Monalisa also claimed that some people find joy in bad news, as some celebrate the tax scandal.
