Singer Portable has apologized to his colleague, Davido, for his snide remarks at the singer during the July 2022 Osun state governorship campaign and election.
Recall that Davido supported his Uncle and winner of the election, Ademola Adeleke, while Portable supported the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola.
While Davido sang at Adeleke’s campaign rally, Portable sang at those organized by Oyetola. Following their conflict of interest, Davido unfollowed Portable on all social media platforms. The action did not go well with Portable, who made a video making snide remarks at Davido, who many see as his senior in the industry.
”Open your ears and listen. My father is not a rich man. I am glory. I am the one who made my family rich. Support who supports you. They ran to unfollow us.” Portable said
The rift between them might soon be squashed as the Onitigbo of Tigbo-Ilu Land, in Ogun State, Oba Olabode Thomas-Fagbayi, made Portable apologize to Davido. In a viral video, the monarch, who recently bestowed a chieftaincy title on Portable, asked the singer to apologize to Davido. The monarch mentioned that Davido is Portable’s senior.
Portable then took hold of the microphone and tendered an apology to Davido.
