Biography
Nkechi Blessing Sunday is a Nigerian actress, film producer and director, screenwriter and brand ambassador.
Nkechi a native of Abia state was born on 14 February 1989.
She is Igbo but popularly known for picking up Yoruba roles in Nollywood movies. Nkechi delivers Yoruba roles perfectly. She was able to do so seamlessly because she grew up in the Surulere and Abule Egba area of Lagos State with predominantly Yoruba people.
Her first production was Omoge Lekki in 2015. A movie that won the MAYA Awards and she was nominated for Revelation of the Year at the Best of Nollywood Awards.
She is also the Director and CEO of Nkechi Films Production, and the NBS Foundation
Education
Nkechi attended Olu Abiodun Nursery and Primary school, Lagos for her elementary education before heading to Barachel Model College, Lagos for her secondary school education.
She later proceeded to Lagos State University where she bagged a diploma in theatre arts before she headed to Houdegbe North American University, Benin Republic, where she bagged a degree in International Relations
Career
In 2008, Nkech had her first breakthrough in the movie industry with her role in “Omo Bewaji.
She was then later noticed by Emeka Duru who offered her a supporting role in ‘Through The Fire & Entanglement’ in 2009.
She finally rose to stardom in 2012 when she played a lead role in ‘Kafila Omo Ibadan’, a movie produced by Temitope Bali
‘Dora’ a role she was known for in the movie ‘The Ghost and the Tout’ in 2018, bagged her the City People Movie Award for Most Promising Actress of the Year
In 2020 she featured in ‘Fate of Alakada’ as Bisi.
She has also featured in other huge projects in lead and supporting roles such as in Tanwa Savage, The Cleanser, Omo Emi, and Ise Ori, Breaded Life, and Olori Amolegbe amongst others.
Marriage
In 2021, Nkechi announced that she is in a relationship with Falegan Opeyemi David; a philanthropist, entrepreneur and politician. A relationship that lasted for 10 months before they parted ways.
However, Nkechi reportedly had a son; Elijah Novah Success from her previous relationship.
Net worth
Nkechi amasses her wealth from acting, production and brand ambassadorship deals.
However, her net worth is reportedly valued at an estimated $300,000; although this cannot be independently verified.
Achievements
In 2017, Nkechi was unveiled as an ambassador of The Nigeria Carnival USA.
Nkechi alongside Seun Sean Jimoh cohosted the 2020 edition of the African Entertainment Awards USA .

Controversy
Nkechii was caught up in a messy marriage controversy with her ex-husband Falegan Opeyemi David.
It began when the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) reportedly called out the actress over alleged fraudulent donations by the husband’s foundation warning the public not to fall victim.
However, Nkechi dissociated herself from the allegation stating that she knew some things were not right about Opeyemi’s foundation.
The husband however took to Instagram to inform the public that he has walked out of the union with Nkechi to protect his name. Nkechi in reaction to this claim took to her Instagram to deny being dumped.
She said ‘The one wen I nor like na if you lie say you leave me. Nobody ever does…I simply take a walk and not say my side of the story cus really its not worth it. Say all you want to say but you see lie? We wear same trousers, na there you go vex me,”
Later, she took to Instagram in a live video to claim that the relationship crashed due to infidelity allegations and fake life.
An online source revealed that Opeyemi reportedly claimed that Nkechi came into his life for sex and money. In the report, he said “She came into my life for two things, money and sex. You know I have a foundation that takes care of the widows and the less privileged which I started when I lost my dad,”
“These were some of the reasons she came into my life. she knew I was a philanthropist, she knew I normally give these people alms within my capacity.”
