How Tunde Ednut emerged Africa’s most influential blogger using Instagram

Over many years of working as a blogger, he has become Africa’s Most Influential blogger, but that could happen in a second; but here’s a rundown of what we consider must have contributed to his influence.

Tunde Endut, whose real name is Tunde Olaoluwa Adekunle, is a famous Nigeria Blogger who was once a singer, comedian, and graphic designer. His parents are said to be lecturers. He is the first son and second child of a family of five.

Music star turned Instagram blogger also left Nigeria and relocated abroad for a better life when his music career was footdragging to fame. Thankfully, Tunde has carved a niche for himself in the Instagram space and has quite an impressive number of followers who are big fans.

Instagram is a photo and video sharingsocial networking service founded in 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, and later acquired by American company Facebook Inc.

The app allows users to upload media that can be edited with filters and organized by hashtags and geographical tagging. Posts can be shared publicly or with preapproved followers.

After working unsuccessfully for many years as a musician and comedian, he decided to change his style and eventually settled as a blogger. He started his career in music; he released various tracks, for example, “Jingle Bell” and “Catching a cold” however came to the spotlight with the remix of “Catching a cold”, which highlights Mavin records sensation, Dr Sid. Still, none has given him the fame he has gotten compared to Instagram blogging.
As a performer, Tunde Ednut formally started his profession as a comic. In 2007, Tunde Ednut was welcome to perform at the Dynamics Awards in Nigeria.

Occasionally, he tasks some of his followers to support vulnerable youths, sometimes students who need extra funds to survive in school; unlike his contemporaries, he uses his account to help these students.

Ednut has helped many unknown persons rise to quick stardom and ensures they sustain the momentum of fame; for example, I learned about Shatta Bandle, Mr Macaroni and some comedy skit actors through his page.

Ednut’s account has gulped millions of Naira from advertisement revenue, some of which he gave back to society, targeting the youths.

Tunde Ednut charges up to N500,000 – N1,00 000 – Ñ million per sponsored post on Instagram; as a result of his following and engagements, he posts every day.

Tunde Ednut has been the springboard behind the success story of many artists, dancers and comedians in Nigeria, and the list is endless.

He is also not without his many controversies. Among his many altercations with many celebrities was with another blogger, Joro Olumofin. Days before the first suspension of Tunde’s account, the love doctor, as Joro is popularly called, gathered further evidence to support the claim that Tunde has cyberbullied many people on the app, which followed a suspension of his account.

When his Instagram account was suspended, he had a line-up of celebrities falling over themselves to ensure he had his performances back, and it works almost all the time it happens. He always opens new accounts and immediately gains millions of followers due to his support from these celebrities.

The celebrities leading the call for Ednut’s page return on Instagram include 2baba, AY, and Daddy Freeze.

2baba wrote on his Instagram page, “Instagram do the needful. Free Tunde Ednut page. Then tell us who packaged this downing p abeg. Wa gwan!”.

Comedian AY wrote, “Mistakes made and lessons learned. Instagram kindly bring back the Tunde Ednut account. And to those whom he may have offended directly or indirectly, kindly forgive and forget.”

“Tunde Ednut is a great guy; we want him back”, wrote Daddy Freeze.
Sound Sultan also posted, “Hello Instagram, can you please restore my guy Tunde Ednut’s page. Consider the comment section, a petition signed; we miss him, and I apologise on his behalf to those offended by the tribal slurs! Mark Z oshe.”

He also gets supported by A-list celebrities like Davido, Funke Akindele and Don Jazzy.
