Yemi Osinbajo: Biography, Wife, Children, Net worth and Things You May Not Know

Oluyemi Oluleke Osinbajo is the full name of Professor Yemi Osinbajo (PYO). He is currently serving as the vice-president under Muhammadu Buhari and at the moment aspiring for the presidential seat. What else do you know about this iconic politician?

Early Beginning

The late Opeoluwa Osinbajo, an engineer, is the biological father of Yemi Osinbajo. Osinbajo was born on the 8th of March 1957. He is the second of five children. His mother’s name is Olubusi Osinbajo, a school teacher.

As of the 8th of March, 2022, Osinbajo is 64 years old. What’s more? He was born in Lagos at Creek Hospital but a native of Ikenne Remo in Ogun state, a South Western state in Nigeria.

Education  

Star Boy as he is sometimes called by some people attended Corona school, Lagos, for his primary education. His secondary education was at Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos.

As regards his tertiary education, Yemi Osinbajo attended prestigious schools; he’s a graduate of the London School of Economics (1980) and the University of Lagos (1975 – 1978).

Osinbajo started practising law and lecturing at the University of Lagos in 1981 shortly after he graduated until 1999 when he was tapped for the Commissioner for Justice and Anthony General positions during Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government (1999-2007).

Politica Career

Osinbajo has served as a member of the cabinet, Lagos State Ministry of Justice; Lagos Commissioner of Justice, Lagos State Attorney General. His other positions include:

  • Staff Member, United Nations Operations in Somalia, Justice Division, UNOSOM II.
  • Member, United Nations Secretary General’s Committee of Experts on Conduct and Discipline of UN, Peacekeeping Personnel around the globe, Member, 2006.
  • Partner in the law firm of Osinbajo, Kukoyi & Adokpaye.

Marriage

Osinbajo is married to Dolapo Soyede Osinbajo. She is the lovely granddaughter of the iconic nationalist, Obafemi Awolowo.

God blessed the union with three children. A male child and two female children. Their names are;

  • Kanyisola.
