10 Bible verses against ‘Yahoo Yahoo’, money rituals, sports bettings

A Nigerian has shared 10 Bible verses that teach against dishonest ways like internet fraud aka Yahoo Yahoo, Ponzi scheme, money rituals, sports bettings, etc.

The verses clearly show why the Bible is a relevant book and will always be relevant in the world.

*Jeremiah 17:11 KJV

11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool

*Proverbs 20:17 KJV

17 Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.

*Leviticus 19:13 KJV

13 Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

*Proverbs 28:22 KJV

22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

*1 Timothy 6:9-10

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

*Micah 2:1-3 KJV

1 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

2 And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

3 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.

*Proverbs 10:2 KJV

2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

*Proverbs 16:8 KJV

8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

*Ephesians 4:28 KJV

28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Some ways to avoid falling into dishonest ways

Beloved, to avoid falling into dishonest ways, be mindful of the kind of content you consume, especially on the internet. Look at music videos today, what do you think they teach the youth? They fill them up with list and a desire to be rich because the lifestyle portrayed in those music videos can only be achieved through riches.

What do you think made four teenagers behead a young girl for money rituals? Do you think they just woke up one morning and the thought came into their head? No, they were moved by the lust implanted in them by society, music and movies.

You see musicians flaunting money, mansions and cars in their videos, and dancing in the middle of 20 unclad girls; they were contracted by Satan to receive the world into wanting that kind of lifestyle. The scenes in their videos store in the subconscious mind of we humans without us knowing. Gradually, we start to desire such a life. When we see a dishonest means to achieve it, we jump at it without considering the consequence.

A while ago, Nigerians all screamed ENDSARS. Now SARS is gone, what we have left is an increase of Yahoo Boys without anyone checkmating them. Snakes are dangerous, but if you kill all of them in the wild, there will be a swell in the population of rodents such that the city won’t know peace.

Young man, there is dignity in labour. Work hard, get more jobs. Any attempt to make money that doesn’t see you taking up two or more jobs is just a dishonest attempt at becoming rich to fulfil lust.
