Nigerian singer-songwriter Peter Okoye, stage name ‘Mr P’, has expressed his displeasure over the slow progression of Nigeria as a country, compared to Dubai.
The singer in a series of tweets on Monday, January 31, 2022, is seen blaming the Nigerian government for the slow progression and urges people to go out and get their PVCs and vote in 2023.
“Anytime I just enter Dubai. Instead of me to Enjoy I go just dey vex 4 our country Naija with Anger! Abeg no bi dsame 1960 wey we get independence?“
“God why? Why our Government just dey deny us all the good things 4 dis life? Make we try get sense for 2023 General election.”
“Get your PVC guys. Any silly mistake, it’s going to be a long 8yrs of wahala…. Enough of all this recycling Government! We no do again!”
“Abeg who we offend for our country Nigeria?Abi our government no de see all dis beautiful things? Na even dem travel pass but dem no fit imitate! E no go better for dem! Get your PVC guys”
A Twitter user reacted to one of his tweets negatively, asking what the singer has done for his country.
The Twitter user’s tweet reads “Leave election and politics out of this we have you we have rich men and women that can change our country, what have you done with your money to develop Nigeria”
Peter Psquare reacted also, explaining that the government and politics affects a lot of things that one individual may try to do.
“What have I done with my money? The one that your father gave me? You must be a joker! Politics and wealth na 2 different things here.”
“A rich man can only help so many….But with the Government and Politics you can affect a lot… stop being a coward! Go and get some sense.” he tweeted.
