Pastor Toluwani Odukoya, the Associate Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, has candidly disclosed the personal turmoil she navigated—including a marital separation—that ultimately cemented her faith and pastoral calling.
In a deeply personal interview on the Truthtable platform, shared on her YouTube channel on Thursday, the 40-year-old revealed for the first time that she is separated from her husband due to “circumstances beyond my control.”
Odukoya described the end of her marriage as akin to “a death,” an emotional blow compounded by a string of devastating family losses between 2021 and 2023. During this turbulent period, she mourned the deaths of her stepmother, her father’s twin sister, and eventually, her father, the late Senior Pastor Taiwo Odukoya.
Despite the profound heartbreak, she emphasized that the separation was not a sign of fault, stating that her “ex-husband is a great man.” She attributed the split to a lack of divine alignment: “If God doesn’t ordain you guys to be together and you force-fit yourselves, the likelihood of staying together is very low.”
The emotional baggage led her to question her worthiness for ministry, but she ultimately embraced her pastoral destiny by focusing on her faith.
“When the call came, I told God, ‘You know all the baggage I’m trying to navigate. But if You call me to serve, then maybe you’ve put something in me.’ I just decided to keep my eyes on Jesus.”
Odukoya was quick to credit her family’s unwavering support, noting that her late father and siblings played a crucial role in her emotional recovery. “My dad fought for me. My family encouraged me. That embrace added to my self-esteem and self-worth,” she shared.
Following the passing of her father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, in August 2023, the church leadership was passed to her brother, Jimmy Odukoya, who now serves as the Senior Pastor alongside her in the associate role.
