Who is Mr Eazi? Profile of billionaire Femi Otedola’s son-in-law

Biography

Mr Eazi is a Nigerian Afrobeats star and businessman. His full and real name is Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade.

Although an established musician, the young record executive became a media sensation in 2025 when he got hitched and officially became a family member of Billionaire Femi Otedola.

How old is Mr Eazi?

Mr Eazi was born on July 19, 1991. He is currently 34 years old as of July 19, 2025.

Tribe and state of origin

Mr Eazi was born in Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State, a state in the Niger Delta region of southern Nigeria.

However, from his name, he originates from the Yoruba tribe, dominantly located in the southwestern part of Nigeria.

Parents

His parents have, over the years, lived a very private life.

Mr Eazi’s father, Captain Alexander Olukayode Ajibade, is a pilot who retired from the Nigerian Air Force as a Squadron leader and later founded an aviation consultancy firm. He hails from Ayetoro, a town located in the Yewa Local Government of Ogun State.

The move to start an aviation consultancy by Mr Eazi’s father is not surprising, as he is one of the few pilots in West Africa who can fly some rare military helicopters.

His mother is a former banker and businesswoman who later became a pastor. On why they chose to remain private, Captain Ajibade, in an interview, said, “I have always been a very private person, let Mr Eazi do his things and we do our things here too.

“I think it was in the news that Mr Eazi’s father was kidnapped. People who saw the news were trying to reach me. It was on Sunday, and I got back from Church early. So I was sleeping at home and my phone was off. By the time my wife got back and they called her, she said my husband is here.

“So they kidnapped the wrong person,” he narrated.

Mr Eazi’s father, Captain Alexander Olukayode Ajibade.

Captain Ajibade also had a little stint in politics, he contested for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives three times and lost all.

Mr Eazi’s mother hails from the South-South region of Nigeria. His parents met in Port Harcourt.

Relationship

Mr Eazi’s most well-known and recent relationship was with billionaire heiress, Temi Otedola, the third daughter of Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola.

They met at an event in London in 2017. It was actually at a gig where Temi’s sister, DJ Cuppy, was performing. Mr Eazi disclosed in an interview that he had just escorted DJ Cuppy to the event, and she (Cuppy) left her sister, Temi, in his company.

Despite Temi’s father, Femi Otedola, being featured in Forbes list of billionaires, and grandfather, Michael Otedola, being an ex-Governor of Lagos state (1992-1993), Mr Eazi claimed in an interview that “I did not know her father was worth so much; I just saw a fine girl and decided to strike up a conversation with her.”

They got engaged in April 2022. After dating for about 8 years, the duo tied the knot in 2025. According to Temi Ajibade, they had their court wedding on May 9, 2025, same day as “Mummy Ajibade’s Birthday”, Mr Eazi’s late mother’s 61st birthday.

Just four guests were in attendance at the court wedding which was held at the Marie de Monaco town hall (the elegant Villa La Vigie): the couple, Temi’s assistant, and a friend of Mr Eazi’s.

The traditional wedding was held on July 2025 at Dubai featuring guests like Aliko Dangote, King Sunny Ade, and Diplo.

The white wedding was held in August 2025 in Iceland. The wedding which was held across three continents including Iceland, Monaco, and Dubai reportedly costs around $15 million.

Education

Mr Eazi relocated to Ghana at the age of 16 to further his education. He enrolled in the mechanical engineering programme at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

According to his father, “It was during his time at KNUST, he started doing MC, DJ and booking artistes to perform at college parties”.

Mr Eazi, a corporate musician

He is the creator of Banku music, a fusion of Nigerian chord progressions & patterns and Ghanaian highlife. Mr Eazi said, “The first time I ever recorded a song, I went straight from the banku joint to the studio, so I was sleepy. Some people say I sing like I don’t really care. Like, ‘Yo, bro, are you really singing?’ That’s banku.”

He moved to Nigeria at the age of 23 and worked as a mechanical engineer with Schlumberger, an international oil and gas servicing company.

During this time, he also delved into entrepreneurship. During this time, he ran about six businesses including soft drinks import, gold mining and food distribution.

He released his 13-track debut mixtape “About to Blow” in July 2013.

His song, ‘Skin tight’, was used by American Musician Diddy as a soundtrack for one of his Ciroc commercials.

Did Mr Eazi sell his record label?

In April 2023, several reports suggested that Zagadat Capital, an investment vehicle of Mr Eazi’s received a heavy alert of $1 billion following the sale of Vydia, a rumoured portfolio of the company to gamma.

Vydia is a musictech company that helps musicians to manage, monetise, and distribute their art. Meanwhile, publicly available records did not confirm that Mr Eazi or Zagadat Captial are investors of Vydia.

However, a report by Techpoint Africa narrated Mr Eazi’s connection to the company. It is a partnership with emPawa Africa to launch Cinch Distro, a music distribution platform. A representative from emPawa Africa was also quoted to have claimed that emPawa Africa Ghana invested in Vydia in 2021, while a tweet from Mr Eazi seems to corroborate this.

Did Temi Otedola (now Temi Ajibade) invest in Mr Eazi’s music?

There is no publicly available record that Temi Ajibade has investment in her husband’s music empire.

In an interview few weeks after their wedding ceremony, Mr Eazi claimed; “Music makes up just 20% of my earnings. Long before recognition, I was already an entrepreneur. I experimented with many ventures—club promotion, e-commerce, and other businesses. Today, I operate companies in 18 African countries.

“Now at 34, I’m more than an artist. I’m also an entrepreneur and investor. Alongside my wife Temi, we are building businesses and driving impact. That’s why I always say, I’m more than music—I’m a businessman first.”

Mr Eazi’s investments

Mr Eazi owns or founded several companies, including:

  • emPawa Africa (talent incubation for artists)

  • PawaPay (fintech for mobile payments)
  • BetPawa (betting platform, CEO)
  • Swagger Entertainment (event promotion)

Mr Eazi’s net worth

There is no official estimate of Mr Eazi net worth. Most reported estimates are numbers without financial records to back them up. Regardless, the artiste-businessman has really done well for himself as far as wealth accumulation is concern.

In 2023, he publicly described a post estimating his net worth at $5 million as “erroneously disrespectiful!”, hinting he worths more.
