WhatsApp back after hours of downtime

Popular messaging app, WhatsApp is back online after hours of outage which made many users ignorantly blame their internet.

A check by NewsWireNGR during the service outage revealed it was not only the app version that was down but also the web version.

Confirming the outage, WhatsApp in a statement on its Twitter page said: “we’re working quickly to resolve connectivity issues with WhatsApp and we’ll update you here as soon as possible.”

Updating users on the restoration of service, WhatsApp alerted; “and we’re back, happy chatting!”
