Ned Nwoko gifts ‘staff N100k each’ to celebrate PDP senatorial ticket

Nigerian businessman and politician, Ned Nwoko, has celebrated his win of the Peoples Democratic Party senatorial ticket for Delta North district ahead of the 2023 general elections by gifting his staff N100,000 each.

Recall the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced Prince Chinedu Nwoko as winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Delta North Senatorial District for 2023 general election.

The Commission said Nwoko defeated his opponent, Mr. Paul Osaji, a business mogul, in the Senate Primary held in Asaba with 242 votes as against 67 votes polled by his opponent.

To celebrate his win, the politician splashed over N10m on his staff, as he gifted N100,000 each to over 100 members of his staff.

His actress wife, Regina Daniels announced this on her Instagram page late Monday.

On her Instagram story, she revealed, “Hubby is so grateful and happy. He just gave more than 100 of his staff 100k each.”

Announcing his win, the actress wrote, “I can’t explain the joy I feel right now! The race to senate starts with the PDP primary election and it is with so much joy that I announce our victory!

“You have never been a lover of politics and I’m glad to have been one of those that convinced you to do this because I know what you stand for, your love and your dreams for your country.

“Anioma will feel your impact. Delta state will feel your impact. Nigeria will feel your impact. My dear senator.”

While declaring Nwoko winner, the PDP Election Returning Officer, Mr Nosa Omagbon and his team, Mr Johnbull Edema and Kelly Penawou, said the total accredited delegates were 310.

Omagbon, however, declared Nwoko winner as the PDP candidate for the 2023 senate election for scoring a total of 242 votes as against 67 votes scored by Oseji.

Speaking to newsmen, Nwoko, said his victory was the beginning of a new dawn in Delta, particularly the Delta North while expressing confidence for victory in the general election.

He assured them that his presence in the National Assembly would impact the generality of the country in areas of economy, security and infrastructural development
