President Buhari Presents 42 Ambassadorial Nominees To Senate

Forty-two ambassadorial nominees have been sent to the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari for screening and subsequent confirmation.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan revealed in a letter sent to him by the President during plenary on Tuesday.

The letter reads: “In accordance to section 171 (1),(2)(c) and subsection (4) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended. I have the honour to forward for confirmation by the Senate, the under-listed forty-two (42) names of nominees as Career Ambassadors-Designate.”

The Ambassadors-designate for confirmation are:

  2. A. Kafas, Adamawa;
  3. R. U. Brown, Akwa-Ibom;
  4. G. A. Odudigbo, Anambra;

According to Lawan, the nominees are career diplomats who will oversee Nigeria’s mission outside the country. He added that President Buhari has promised to send the curricular vitae of the nominees as soon as possible.
