“My Father Was One Of The 3 Men Killed During Buhari’s Regime, I’ll Vote For Him – Ismai’l Lawal

During Buhari’s military regime in 1984, there was the decree promulgation of Decree 20 which 3 men – Bartholomew Owoh (26), Bernard Ogedengbe (29) and Lawal Ojuolape (30)- were executed by firing squad after being arrested and tried for drug trafficking. The case of Bartholomew Owoh, the youngest of them all, was particularly tragic.
Ismai’l Lawal, one of the children of Lawal Ojuolape, has said he will vote for Buhari in the February 2015 poll if he was resident in Nigeria. According to his tweets seen below….
My father was one of the 3 young men GMB executed with a retroactive law.I would vote him on 0214 if I had a vote.1/2

At the time of his arrest, the crime did not carry capital forfeiture -the punishment was six months imprisonment. But Decree No. 20 was hurriedly promulgated and back-dated by one whole year to take effect from when he and others committed the crime and on the basis of that they were all tried, found guilty and executed by firing squad.
