Igbo Group Endorses Jimi Agbaje

Jimi Agbaje’s 2015 ambition got a big boost on Friday when an Igbo group within the PDP conducted a mobilization rally to sensitise the Igbos in Lagos state on the need to go to collect their permanent voter’s cards.
The rally of the Ndi-Igbo in PDP Lagos State, tagged:“Ndi-Igbo Operation Go and Register”, held at the state secretariat of the party, Ikeja GRA, had in attendance Igbos from all nooks and cranny of the state.
Mr Duru Polycarp who is the chairman of the group said that Agbaje is a selfless individual and is the best candidate for Lagos Governor in 2015.
“He is a leader who could bring the change Lagosians need. We believe he shares our ideology for renewal and reform. That`s why we are supporting him; we incredibly love Agbaje because he represents a new face and the freshness we desire now,”
Polycarp said that the aim of the group was to mobilize support for the group in 2015.
“We have a mandate, our mandate is to work and ensure that the PDP in the state is better positioned to win the forth coming elections,” he said, stating that they were flagging off their activities with the sensitisation of Igbos in Lagos on the need to participate in the forthcoming voters’ cards collection and registration exercises by INEC as it was what would lead the party to the expected victory in 2015.
“After a review of our political history in Lagos State and population, Ndigbo is not pleased with the second fiddle we have permanently been consigned to. Demographic analyses show that Ndigbo control over 75 per cent of the state’s economy. This can automatically be translated into electoral victory to any governorship aspiration if properly harnessed,”
On winning the chance of PDP winning the state in 2015, he said
“Though the task is enormous, I believe it is achievable with the cooperation of every one of us,”
In his reply, Agbaje said that PDP will take control of the state as it did in Ekiti state. “What happened in the Ekiti State gubernatorial election is an eye opener to all sceptics; the same thing will happen in Lagos State soonest, if we insist that the one man, one vote mantra that yielded that result is applied in subsequent elections,” he told the crowd of Igbo party supporters, assuring that the PDP would not only take over Lagos State, but majority of the states of the federation in the coming elections
