Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has been appointed as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum.
Fayose’s appointment was announced in Abuja late on Thursday night by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Seriake Dickson.
The new chairman of the Forum succeeded the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.
Mimiko, who was absent at the poorly attended meeting where Fayose was picked, succeeded a former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Only five states were represented at the meeting.
The meeting where Fayose’s appointment was announced, took place at his personal residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
Some leaders of the party like the Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jibrin and the Chairman of its National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, were however in attendance.
