Breaking: Tears In Adamawa As Twin Blasts Hit Northeast City, 30 Killed, 67, Wounded – Army Spokesman

At least 30 people were killed on Friday when two female suicide bombers detonated their explosives in a busy market in northeast Nigeria, the military said.

“At least 30 people have been killed in the suicide blasts carried out by two female suicide bombers in the market” in the town of Madagali, military spokesman major Badare Akintoye told AFP.

Mr Sa’ad Bello, the National Emergency Management Agency coordinator in charge of Adamawa and Taraba, confirmed twin bomb blasts in Madagali Market in Adamawa.

Also confirming the incident, the Chairman of Madagali Local Government, Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed, said the incident which occurred around noon was at the animal and grains sections of the market.

A resident of Madagali, who simple identified himself as Hamma, said many people were affected as the blasts occurred around the busy areas of the market.

“You know today is our market day. I just pray God to minimises the casualty,” Hamma said.
