The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Chairmanship aspirant, Raymond Dokpesi, has described the postponement of the convention in Port Harcourt as “a blessing in disguise.”

Dokpesi in a statement issued by his Media Aide, Mr. Omor Bazuaye in Abuja, on Saturday, said that the PDP had planned to impose Mr. Jimi Agbaje as the national chairman.

Dokpesi alleged that the governors went to lobby delegates from the North, asking them to obey the “micro zoning “ arrangement which he said was unilaterally decided by them.

Dokpesi said, “When they brought the message to anoint Agbaje to the people, everybody started screaming that it was Raymond Dokpesi they want to vote for and so the Northern elders ordered them to go to the field”.

He said the postponement would afford PDP members the opportunity to resolve the leadership crisis in the party.
