I’m Back To Land of The Living – Fani-Kayode Says After 68 Days From EFCC Custody

Femi Fani-Kayode, Spokesman of the presidential campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has regained freedom after 68 days in prison custody.

Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and former aviation Minister was detained at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on May 9, after turning himself in based on an invitation from the agency.

He was later flown to Lagos, where he was arraigned alongside Nenadi Usman, former minister of education, on a 17-count charge of money laundering.

EFCC had accused the duo, and two others, of criminal conspiracy, fraud and money laundering to the tune of N4.9 billion which they denied and were later granted bail at N250 million each.

Jude Ndukwe, Spokesman of Fani-Kayode, confirmed that Fani-Kayode left prison custody on Friday evening.

DailyPost correspondent then called Fani-Kayode on phone at about 9:05pm.

The former Minister said he is glad to be out.

His words: “I am back to the land of the living.

“It was quite an experience. I am very happy to be a free man again.

“My appreciation goes to all Nigerians that showed concern, my friends and family, the media and above all, God almighty”.
