Atiku Moves To Solve Unemployment Challenge, Unveils “Rico Gardo” Factory In Abuja

As part of his contribution towards reducing unemployment in the country,Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has revealed plans to establish an animal feeds factory in Abuja.

In a statement released to members of the press on Friday, in Abuja, Atiku said arrangement for the take-off of the factory was at an advanced stage. As a matter of fact, the factory would complement Federal Government’s efforts on job creation.

Atiku said when the factory known as “Rico Gardo”, commences operation, it will produce animal feeds of various types, including for cattle, horse and poultry and small ruminants.

The statement further states that Rico Gardo already exists in Adamawa State and was sure of providing thousands of jobs directly and indirectly.

”It will also conserve scarce foreign exchange for the country by providing high quality made-in-Nigeria animal feed for the nation’s livestock sector.

”Based on the success and impact of the Numan factory, the Abuja factory when operational, will play a significant role in providing feed for millions of cattle that presently roam the country in search of pasture,” it said.

It stated that the company was jointly owned by Atiku and Rico Gardo, and specialised in livestock feeds production and distribution throughout Europe and the Middle-East.

Rico Gado Nutriton NG is a company that manufactures compound feeds for animals, imports and exports seeds and grains. It has its first factory built in Yola and plans to build one in Abuja (2015 / 2016) and another in a 3rd location (2017).

Apart from it’s economical goals, the company also has a strong social awareness and will reach to the local farmers, stimulating their own production and guaranteeing that year after year, they will have their production sold.

With this, Rico Gado Nutrition NG hopes to empower local farmers to grow their own agricultural activities and to stimulate local economies.
