“It Is Absurd To Increase Tariff And Decrease Supply” – Dino Melaye Wants Buhari To Replace Fashola

Controversial Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye has called on President Buhari to take over the Federal Ministry of Power which is headed by Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN.

The Senator who took to his Twitter account expressed his concerns over the epileptic power supply in the country recommended that the President should constitute a task force manned by a competent hand and takeover the leadership of the Ministry.

“Our President should be Minister of Power and then constitute a Special Task force committee headed by an assertive and strong willed person,” Dino Melaye said.

Melaye who said he woke up worried about the power sector made his position known in a series of tweets. He also condemned the hike in the electricity tariff.

“It is absurd to increase tariff and then decrease supply of same product.

“As a people we must demand result from the power sector reform. It can’t not be same.

“Citizens must put pressure on the National Assembly to create the needed change in the power sector.

He called on Nigerians to “support and push Buhari to make a change in the power sector.”

“Power stability is possible. We need a date of hope from Government. Everyone in power, myself inclusive, must wake up to our responsibilities.
“We must fix power by all means. Nigerians should put the issue of power on the front burner.

According to him, the National Integrated Power Project “is a scam that must be investigated.” and called on his colleagues in the Senate and the 8th National Assembly to make necessary sacrifices to make the power sector work. He said; “our oversight in this regard, power generation, transmission and distribution, must be holistic. We must make extra sacrifice in tandem with our oath.”

He said that fixing the power sector was necessary to achieve the Nigerian industrial revolution plan.
