Hip Hop artiste Davido, A.K.A David Adeleke, on Wednesday was guest to officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Lagos office.

The Agency which had received petition against the celebrity artiste from his baby mother, Ms. Sophia Momodu had invited him to make a statement.

Accompanied by his Dad Dr. Adeleke ‘aka Baba Olowo’, Davido reportedly arrived at the agency at 11:07am to make a statement on the case between him and the estranged mother of his daughter, Sophia, was taken by NAPTIP.

When contacted on the telephone, Davido, who was recently hospitalized due to stress, declined to comment on the outcome of his visit to the NAPTIP office, insisting that it was a family affair and a personal problem. A close source however commented that;

“I cannot tell you the outcome of the meeting because the agency is still investigating the matter and the parties involved are cooperating with us. We are talking about the future of a child here, and everything has to be done to protect the child”

The whole drama started after Sophia who is a cousin of popular journalist, Dele Momodu, wrote a letter of petition against the musician through her lawyer, Mr. Gbolaga Ajayi. Ajayi while seeking protection for the rights of his client, petitioned the NAPTIP as the case borders on child abduction and trafficking.

Davido’s dad Dr. Deji Adeleke and Momodu had paid an earlier visit to the NAPTIP office on Monday for a meeting. However, Dr. Adeleke was said to have stormed out of the meeting barely 30 minutes after it started.

In a statement released by the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, the body urged the parties to sheathe their swords and use constructive and private means to find lasting resolution so as to respect and edify the constitutional dignity and fundamental human rights of the little baby.
