David Mark Says There’s “No Opposition To PDP In My Constituency”

Immediate past President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, said on Sunday that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remains the party to beat in his Benue South Senatorial District, adding that the party was in good stead to win the rerun election ordered by the Court of Appeal.

Mark, who stated this while receiving the Senate caucus of the PDP in his Abuja home, said that Benue South Senatorial zone will remain impenetrable for the opposition, All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former Senate President insisted that the support is based on overwhelming solidarity and support among his people for his candidature, adding that “my people are solidly behind me. I can tell you without any fear of contradiction that there is no opposition to my party, the PDP in my zone.”

Senator Mark said the annulment of his March 28, 2015 senatorial election at the Appeal tribunal has strengthened him and his constituent the more.

He said “The Appellate tribunal judgement came as a surprise to me. But I am happy there is opportunity for a rerun election.”
