Just In: Saraki Arrives At The Code Of Conduct Flanked By Senators & Supporters

Senate President Bukola Saraki has arrived the Code of Conduct Tribunal where he is to answer to a 13 count charge of alleged false declaration of assets while he was governor of Kwara state.

Saraki is flanked by many senators comprising the deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, Kabiru Gaya and former Sokoto state governor Wamako amongst others and supporters

The courtroom of the Code of Conduct Tribunal is already filled up, with Senators constituting the higher percentage of the audience as the trial of Senator Bukola Saraki, the President of the Senate is set to commence in a few minutes.

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), had yesterday ordered the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, to arrest and bring the Senate President, Bukola Saraki before the Tribunal on Tuesday, by 10am.

Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Danladi Umar, gave the ruling on Monday, after Saraki for the second time, failed to show up before the Tribunal.

 

The management of the tribunal has ordered TVC and Channels television to stop live transmission of the proceedings.
