Fear has gripped members of a Cherubim and Seraphim church located at Ilufunmi Street, Ejigbo, Lagos State, over the disappearance of a four-year-old girl inside the church.

The girl was taken away while she slept inside the church.

According to Olumide Ogundeyi, the girl’s father, he came to the church for deliverance prayers, adding that after the prayers, they slept inside the church auditorium as directed by the prophet.

Ogundeyi said the doors and windows of the church auditorium were locked after their midnight prayers before they slept.

He said when he woke up around 5:00 a.m., he did not see his daughter where she slept with two of his other children and also discovered that his three handsets had disappeared.

He said he raised the alarm which attracted other church members and they immediately started searching for the girl.

Ogundeyi said that the matter has been reported at the Ejigbo Police division and the Oba of Ejigbo, Oba Moruf Ojoola, has equally been informed about it.

He disclosed that they reside in Ogun State from where they came to the church for prayers.

“I don’t know what to do now except to believe in God that she will still be found,” Ogundeyi said.

Police sources at the Imakiyo and Ejigbo police divisions where the matter was reported confirmed the development.

Attempts to speak with the pastor in charge of the church, Prophet Michael Balogun, failed as church members claimed that he was not around.
