Embattled Bayelsa Governor, Seriake Dickson To Declare For Second Term August 28

Embattled Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson, has announced he will formally declare his intention to run for a second term in office as governor of the state on August 28, 2015.

The governor is said to be strongly opposed by Mrs Patience Jonathan, wife of Nigeria’s President who is said to be working for Timi Alaibe to take over from him.

In a statement issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Daniel Iworiso-Markson and published in Daily Independent newspaper, the governor asked his teeming supporters to come out in their numbers on the day.

It noted that the people’s coming out en mass would be their mark of appreciation for the development strides of the Dickson administration.

The statement added that more details of the governor’s declaration would be made public in due course.

The governor will face stiff competition from Moses Siasia (PDP), Timipre Sylva (APC), Timi Alaibe (APC), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri (APC) and Senator Clever Ikiskpo (APC)
