“APC Is Supreme And Its Directives Must Be Obeyed” Gbajabiamila Group Threaten Another Show Down

The loyalist group in the House of Representatives, headed by Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has picked holes in the letter by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, saying the letter is fraught with fundamental flaws in his analysis and interpretation of the Constitution and House rules.

The group added that the APC is Supreme and its directives must be obeyed according to Article 9.2 of the APC constitution which all members subscribed to.

“Members of the party shall be obligated to affirm the party’s aims and objectives,” it said.

The party’s letter to the Speaker on its position forms part of the aims and objectives of the party, it insisted, adding that the principle of Federal Character which the Speaker is propagating does not apply to the legislature.

The group, in a letter to the Chairman of the APC, Chief John Oyegun, Monday, said the party has bent over backwards for the Speaker as even though he refused zoning before the elections , leading to the party conducting its own mock elections, he defied the party and struck a deal with the opposition People’s Democratic Party.

For the Speaker to now suddenly decide that zoning must be a factor in distribution of the principal positions, smacks of hypocrisy, the letter signed by Hon. Nasiru Sani Zangon-Daura on behalf of the Loyalists group noted.
