33 Ministerial Nominees For Buhari’s Cabinet Reportedly Fail Corruption Test

The delay of President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint ministers into his cabinet may not be unconnected to the fact that most of the names originally penciled down as probable ministers were found to have one corruption case or the other linked to them.

The Tribune newspaper is reporting that background investigation conducted on the nominees shows that only three out the 36 names were found to be free of all forms of corruption.

The names of the nominees submitted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) hierarchy and sent to the DSS, EFCC, ICPC, CBN, the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID), and the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) for forensic screening, only passed the corruption test.

A source said: “Buhari has said anybody with skeleton in the closet will not work with him irrespective of the role he or she played.

If such persons are around him, it means he may be pressurised to compromise his principled stance”.

“So they are trying to push him to a corner, because the truth is that they cannot seem to read or understand his body language. They have now seen that Buhari is ready to sacrifice anybody for Nigeria to move forward”, the source stated.
