Again, 3 Women Kidnapped In Ekiti

Three women were on Friday taken away by their abductors after they were kidnapped in Igbole community in Ekiti State.

The yet-to-be identified women were said to have been kidnapped Friday afternoon by unknown gunmen, who were said to have intercepted a vehicle they were travelling in, with unspecified number of children, at Igbole-Igbosin road.

Tribune Sources said they were travelling in a vehicle to Ibadan, Oyo state, for a wedding ceremony.

According to the sources, their captors released the children and took the women away in the car after they were said to have seized their mobile phones and other valuables.

Sympathisers were said to have come to the aid of the children and the men, who were said to be crying for help by the road side.

Confirming the incident, Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State police command, Mr. Alberto Adeyemi, said: “The Divisional Police Officer in Ido called today (Friday) to give the report about the kidnapped women. We have already launched investigation into the case but I can’t speak about it.”
