Kano Pillars Beat FC Taraba Of Jalingo 2-1

Kano Pillars Football Club on Sunday defeated visiting FC Taraba of Jalingo 2-1 in a 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week six match.

Azeez Shobowale opened scoring for Kano Pillars in the 27th minute of the entertaining encounter with a solo effort in the match played at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Usman Mohammed equalised for the visitors in the 34th minute through a penalty kick when a Kano Pillars defender brought down Chinedu Ohanacho in the goal area.

Moses Ekpai scored the winning goal for the hosts with a superb shot in the 51st minute after collecting the ball from Ezekiel Mbah.

Speaking during the post-match conference, the Kano Pillars’ Head Coach, Okey Emordi, expressed delight at his team’s style of play.

“It was a good match. Both teams played very well and I am very proud of the boys,’’ he said.

Emordi also commended FC Taraba for their fighting spirit.
