Deadly Clash In Abia State After PDP Candidate Is Declared Winner Of The Governorship Polls, Roads Blocked [Photos]

Angry youths who felt cheated at the outcome of the Abia State governorship elections have taken to the streets blocking major access roads leading to the home of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate.

Dr Okeize Ikpeazu of the  PDP was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral commission, INEC as  he polled 264,173 votes to beat his rival, Dr Alex Otti of the APGA who had 180,882 votes.

Total votes cast in the the election was 462,684, while 9,440 votes were rejected.

There’s an ongoing fracas between supporters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA and PDP Youths in the state. The road leading to Ikpeazu’s house has been blocked by angry youths. PDP supporters are reported to have dressed a coffin in APGA flag while chopping off fowls head which is a symbol for APGA.
