Nigeria Is In Safe Hands Under Jonathan – IBB Says

A former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, has said that Nigeria is in a ‘safe hands’ under President Goodluck Jonathan.

The former military leader, IBB, as he is popularly called, who was widely reported to have endorsed Muhammadu Buhari of the APC made the observation during a meeting with President Jonathan on Tuesday in Niger State.

Channels Television reports that President Jonathan was in Niger State in continuation of his nationwide campaign and his visit the former leader at his uphill residence in Minna, the state capital.

General Babangida said he shared the same passion with Jonathan in making sure of a peaceful, stable and developed Nigeria.

“Whenever I discuss with him, I see a young man who has passion for Nigeria. Under Jonathan, Nigeria is in safe hands.

“All Presidents this country has produced have come to Minna for blessing and today that you have come, I will offer you that blessing,” the former military leader said.

He also commended the Peoples Democratic Party for going on the right path, as the party had remained devoid of religious and ethnic divides.

President Jonathan told other members of the party at the meeting that his host was a dependable pillar that had continued to ensure the stability of Nigeria.

The President has held campaigns in different northern states in the last few weeks, reeling out promises of a better future for Nigerians if re-elected in the February 14 presidential election.

Few weeks back, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress and a former military Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, also paid General Babangida a visit, seeking his support and blessing, as he tries to clinch the presidential seat in a forth time attempt.
